Hey TCG fans, and welcome to yet another news roundup! Twice a month, we bring you a condensed form of the biggest news across the TCG universe.
This post will always be split into two parts – first, the hottest news from the last 2 weeks, and second, an ongoing release calendar of upcoming and current product releases for active TCGs.

- In one of the biggest TCG-related announcements in a while, Wizards of the Coast announced Magic is reanimating a structured competitive pipeline for paper play. This will include qualifying events at the local store level, regional level qualifiers, and a much larger world championship event. In addition, early previews for the summer non-Standard release, Commander Legends: Battle for Baldur’s Gate, were shown as full previews for the upcoming Standard set, Streets of New Capenna, began in earnest.
- Somewhat confusingly, Yu-Gi-Oh almost simultaneously announced the cancellation of this year’s World Championship event, and the existence of 4 in-person North American YCS events throughout the year.
- Dragon Ball Super announced their next series of sets will be titled the Zenkai Series, promising new gameplay features much like their first Series, the Unison Warrior series. A new zone appears to be available next to the Leader zone, so players looking for another shake-up to the game may be in for a treat.
- Contrasting with Grand Archive‘s prior announcement of canning their NFT plans, MetaZoo continues to tease NFT Minting, in case owning physical pictures wasn’t cool enough for you and you’d rather pretend to own a digital one.
- With the upcoming release of Attack on Titan: The Final Season, Busiroad has announced the reprint of the first two series of Attack on Titan sets for Weiss Schwarz – nearly 7 years after the release of the first set!
- Newcomer Sorcery: Contested Realm TCG has been funding on Kickstarter, and has blown away the previous records for Kickstarter TCGs, and is poised to shatter those records further by potentially making over $3 million on the platform. With such a strong opening showing, look for its releases to be tracked below in the coming weeks!
